A New Life for the Historic Railway Station in Łuków – A Comprehensive Project by TPF Sp. z o.o. and AN Archi Group

Redevelopment project of the railway station in Łuków, developed by TPF Sp. z o.o. in cooperation with AN Archi Group, has entered the implementation phase. This is an important investment not only for the residents of the town, but also for the entire region – combining respect for architectural heritage with modern, user-friendly solutions.

The Łuków railway station, whose history dates back to 1866 and which underwent a major reconstruction between 1919 and 1921, will regain its former glory. Not only will the historic building itself be renovated, but also its immediate surroundings. The project includes, among other things, the restoration of historic doors and windows, installation of illuminated "Łuków" signs, and reconstruction of the characteristic station clock on the platform side.

The interior of the station will gain a modern and functional character, while still retaining references to its history – for example, wooden paneling and checkerboard-patterned floors will be recreated. The space will be fully adapted to the needs of various user groups, featuring a glass waiting area with a children’s play corner, sanitary facilities, information desks, a defibrillator, charging stations for mobile devices, and dedicated service premises.

A particularly important element of the project is the inclusion of a branch of the Łuków Cultural Center within the station building, featuring an auditorium for 300 people, which will give the place a completely new cultural and social dimension.

The project ensures full accessibility for people with disabilities, including:

  • elimination of architectural barriers,
  • installation of guiding paths,
  • the introduction of Braille signage and tactile maps.

The station will also be equipped with a Building Management System (BMS), modern LED lighting, energy-efficient heating solutions, and advanced security systems.

The station’s surroundings will not be neglected either. The design includes new sidewalks, greenery planting, parking spaces – including those for people with disabilities and families with children – a kiss & ride zone, a taxi stand, and covered bicycle shelters.

The investor behind this initiative is Polskie Koleje Państwowe S.A. (Polish State Railways), and the construction works are being carried out by Texom Sp. z o.o. The project is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026. The total investment cost is PLN 31 million gross, with financial support from the state budget.

For the TPF Sp. z o.o. Team, this project is yet another example of how tradition and modernity can be successfully combined through cooperation and a multidisciplinary approach – creating functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing public spaces.
