TPF Sp. z o.o. has signed a contract for the preparation of design documentation and the provision of architectural supervision as part of one of the largest railway investments in the history of the Silesian Voivodeship.
Project Objective:
The project involves the modernization and expansion of infrastructure on the Katowice Piotrowice – Tychy section, which is part of a major undertaking covering the line from Będzin to the Czech border.
The investment, carried out by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., encompasses the modernization of the route from Będzin through Sosnowiec, Katowice, Tychy, to Zebrzydowice and the Czech border – representing one of the largest railway modernization projects in the history of the Silesian Voivodeship.
The main goal of the project is the construction of additional tracks and the separation of local (commuter) traffic from long-distance traffic, which will result in:
- increased line capacity,
- improved commuting within the metropolitan area,
- reduced travel time,
- a higher number of connections.
As a result of the investment:
- passenger trains will be able to travel at speeds of up to 160 km/h,
- freight trains – up to 120 km/h,
- travel time will be reduced by approximately 5 minutes.
The completion of design works is scheduled for the end of 2027.
