Since April 2024, TPF Sp. z o.o. has been providing a service for PKP PLK SA titled: Supervision over the execution of construction works and the preparation of the detailed design, as well as the execution of construction works for the installation of railway traffic control systems and railway telecommunication network systems on the Zabrzeg – Zebrzydowice – border section as part of the project "Works on the core passenger routes (E 30 and E 65) in the Silesian region, Stage I: E 65 line on the Zabrzeg – Zebrzydowice (state border) section."
This project is part of key investments on the section stretching from Będzin through Sosnowiec, Katowice, Tychy, Pszczyna, and Zabrzeg to the border with the Czech Republic in Zebrzydowice. Its goal is to improve railway access in the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie metropolitan area and to facilitate passenger travel and freight transport along the railway line up to the Czech border.
Thanks to this investment, passengers will enjoy more convenient access to trains at the reconstructed Chybie and Zebrzydowice stations, as well as the Zabrzeg Czarnolesie, Pruchna, and Drogomyśl stops. The project will increase railway accessibility, including for persons with reduced mobility. As part of the works, over 100 km of tracks and 120 km of overhead lines are planned to be rebuilt, which will enable passenger trains to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h. Safety will also be enhanced at 25 engineering structures.
