Railway Line No. 24 Project Piotrków Trybunalski – Bełchatów – Bogumiłów

On July 24, 2023, TPF Sp. z o.o. signed a contract with PKP Polish Railway Lines S.A. for the development of project documentation for the reconstruction of the Piotrków Trybunalski - Bełchatów - Bogumiłów railway line. The residents of Bełchatów will gain a fast and convenient rail connection to Łódź. It is estimated that after modernization and electrification, the travel time will be approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.

The improvement will be achieved through the reconstruction of the line from Piotrków Trybunalski through Bełchatów to Zarzecze (No. 24) and its extension by constructing a new section from Zarzecze to Bogumiłów. Currently, only freight trains serve Bełchatów. The railway supports Poland’s largest fuel and energy hub, including the Bełchatów Lignite Mine and the Bełchatów Power Plant.

The route will be electrified, allowing operators to use modern, eco-friendly vehicles, thus enhancing travel options for passengers.

Residents will gain access to railway services with the reconstruction of the passenger service point in Bełchatów and the construction of new stations in Wola Krzysztoporska, Korczew, Kurnos, Zarzecze nad Widawką, Trząs and Bogumiłów.
