Construction of S6 Road – Western Bypass of Szczecin

TPF Sp. z o.o., in consortium with Databout Sp. z o.o., carried out a project for the task titled “Construction of S6 Road – Western Bypass of Szczecin” – Part 1: Section 1 – Kołbaskowo – Dołuje (from km 1+900 to km 15+484.04) and Section 2 – Dołuje – Police (from km 15+484.04 to km 27+400.00, Będargowo Interchange).

This investment was divided into three implementation sections, with two of them executed by the TPF / Databout consortium.

Section 1: Kołbaskowo – Dołuje (13.6 km)

The first section started at the connection with Stage II of the Przecław and Warzymice bypass on National Road 13 (DK13) and extended to the A6 motorway. The route included a viaduct over the Berlin – Szczecin railway line and bypassed the town of Będargowo, where the Będargowo Interchange was planned. A key element was a 284-meter-long viaduct over the Szczecin – Stobno Szczecińskie railway line, the longest bridge structure on the entire Western Bypass route.

S6 intersected with DK10, with the Dołuje Interchange connecting it to the Mierzyn Bypass. Additionally, a connector road to DK10 was built between Skarbimierzyce and Dołuje. The section ended west of Wołczkowo. As part of this stage, two road interchanges and 18 bridge structures were constructed, including 8 wildlife crossings.

Section 2: Dołuje – Police (11.9 km)

This section started west of Wołczkowo, crossing the Wołczkowo – Dobra county road. The Dobra Interchange, built at a new location, connected S6 with the Wołczkowo Bypass. The new road passed between Sławoszewo and Bartoszewo, where the Sławoszewo Service Area (MOP Sławoszewo) was established.

This segment included 14 bridge structures as well as four upper and five lower wildlife crossings. S6 intersected DW115 and DW114, where the Tanowo Interchange was constructed. The section ended north of Trzeszczyn.

Project Development and Key Facts In 2022, the design phase began, dividing work into separate sections. The total cost of these works amounted to PLN 60 million. Detailed documentation and environmental reports were prepared, optimizing engineering solutions, especially for the tunnel under the Oder River. Geotechnical studies included 63 km of boreholes and 22 km of probing, with depths ranging from 3 to 90 meters.

In 2024, the design documentation was completed and approved, allowing the submission of an application for the construction permit (ZRID decision). The approval process is ongoing and is expected to be finalized in the first half of next year, enabling construction work to begin and initiating compensation procedures for acquired properties.
